Good to know
The ferry takes two hours and a few thousand fellow passengers. Alexandra takes about an hour and a half in good weather, and only the people you choose. The one-way crossing between Helsinki and Tallinn is a private transfer across the Gulf of Finland, arriving at the Old City Marina a short walk from Tallinn’s old town, or the other way round. Many guests combine it with a hotel night in Tallinn and a flight or ferry back, or book the return leg with us for a later day. Passports or ID cards are needed for the border, and the schedule always follows the forecast.
-
The open gulf is the one place we do not compromise. If the forecast wind exceeds 12 metres per second, we move the crossing to another day or refund it in full, and we tell you as early as we can so you can rebook a ferry.
-
Yes. Finland and Estonia are both in the Schengen area, but every guest needs a valid passport or EU ID card on board, and we report the crossing to the authorities in advance.
-
In calm conditions about 1.5 hours harbour to harbour. With more wind we slow down for comfort and it can take 2 to 2.5 hours. We confirm the departure time the evening before based on the forecast.
-
At the Old City Marina next to the Seaplane Harbour, about a 15-minute walk or a short taxi ride from the old town. Departures from Tallinn leave from the same marina.
